To Whom It May Concern:
While browsing through the magazine section I was amazed at most of the ads and articles within. Almost exclusively these articles portray women as shallow individuals with no purpose besides to please the fantasies of men. No one needs to get naked to sell champagne or perfume, and those that do show just how far they will go to catch the few ignorants.
To me it seems that this magazine vies with all the other virtually identical magazines to portray baser, dirtier, and more skimpily attired people to appeal to man’s worst side. With all these magazines turning out the same, wouldn’t it make more sense to go against the flow and portray humanity with the dignity it deserves. The originality of this concept would cater more to the rising independent women, and would be completely free of competition.
The portrayal of women as anorexic sex objects only plays on their insecurity and perceived flaws. Tempering this attitude and giving women confidence without trying to sell them something would greatly expand your audience and improve your appeal to the basic rights of a human being.
